Construction site for the north-west access to Ferrara, Italy

The construction site for the regeneration of the north-west access to Ferrara is progressing well.

The new access point will prioritise pedestrians, cyclists and vulnerable users by creating a new pedestrian-cycle network through the reorganisation of the road hierarchy.

The area is a necessary passage point for entering and leaving Ferrara. The roads have a strongly suburban character with wide carriageway sections, limited space for pedestrians and cyclists, and poor quality green islands and residual areas.

The regeneration project will transform the north-west access point and its infrastructural framework to favour a clear, navigable network for all citizens, ensuring comprehensive connectivity and inclusive green spaces.

The project is designed by MIC-HUB together with Studio Silva, Stain and CST, and the support of the construction companies Sintexcal and Boschiva.
