MIC-HUB at La Biennale dello Stretto 2024
We are honoured to be invited as one of the curators of La Biennale dello Stretto 2024, taking place in Reggio Calabria and Messina from 18th to 22nd September 2024.
Organised by Mariangela Cama, Alfonso Femia, Francesca Moraci, 500×100 società benefit and Mediterranei Invisibili, the second edition of the Biennale dello Stretto is a multicultural event that invites people to reflect on the theme of the three water lines and urban development.
City Futures, the research department of MIC-HUB, will partecipate in the opening session of the Biennale dello Stretto 2024.
As curators of the Infrastructure and Mobility session, we are involved in an interesting discussion on Mediterranean Mobility at the University of Messina on Saturday 21 September from 3 pm.
Federico Parolotto, CEO of MIC-HUB in dialogue with:
Lorenzo Fabian, Architect, Professor of Urban Planning, Iuav University of Venice;
Farzaneh Bahrami, Researcher and Assistant Professor of Urban Design and Mobility, University of Groningen;
Ruben Baiocco, Architect, Professor of Urban Planning, Università degli Studi di Milano.
We are pleased to present the exhibition ‘Lo stretto necessario’ at Forte Batteria Siacci in Campo Calabro.
The exhibition analyses the mobility system in Messina and Reggio Calabria in order to understand the territories, their identities and urban spaces.
The opening week of the Biennale coincides with the European Mobility Week. Coordinated by the Foundation mobilità in città and in collaboration with the Biennale dello Stretto, the OAPPC Reggio Calabria and the Municipality of Villa San Giovanni, a tactical urbanism session will be organised on the beautiful Fata Morgana waterfront to rethink existing spaces to make them safer, more sustainable and pedestrian-friendly.
