MIC-HUB at the site tour organised by the AESOP Young Academics Conference
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of participating in a site tour with PhD candidates from around the world organised by the AESOP Young Academics Conference, Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of Politecnico di Milano.
During the tour, the academics arrived in Piazzale Loreto where Valentina Giacomelli, Project Leader at MIC-HUB, described the regeneration project, focusing on the sustainable and active modes of transport that the project will support.
The tour, entitled ‘Luoghi Comuni: A (Side)walk through Active Mobility and Disputed Public Realm’, explored some of the latest transformations happening in Milan. The purpose behind the tour was to show how public spaces are constructed, if they are designed on a human scale and if the public realm is occupied by people or dominated by cars.
We thank all the participants for their interest in the project and their inspiring questions.
