MIC-HUB collaborated with Sasaki Associates on the new Tecnológico de Monterrey Urban Regeneration Plan, a 500-hectare project in a 15 to 20-year scenario.
The master plan proposes a host of initiatives to promote a cultural shift in the Distrito, including a series of different strategies from short term “quick wins” that have quick implementation turnaround, to longer term strategic visions.
MIC-HUB’s Sustainable Mobility Masterplan for the Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus and District was based on a wide and comprehensive analysis of the existing and future traffic flows and infrastructure conditions of “Distrito TEC”.
The overall strategy for the district was articulated in three different phases: the short, medium and long term, involving not only the closest areas to the campus but including all the different neighborhoods of the district. The main concept was to improve campus accessibility from a sustainable standpoint, finding alternatives to private vehicular transportation.

The aim of the study is centered on the creation of a rich and sustainable urban environment through the optimization of public realm and reduction of car dependency for the TEC de Monterrey population.
In response to Sasaki’s urban regeneration plan that will transform the community into a lively, attractive, dynamic and integrated district, MIC-HUB’s study centres on the creation of a rich and sustainable urban environment through optimization of the public realm and the reduction of car dependency for the Tec de Monterrey population.
A key component of MIC-HUB’s study was to develop a transport strategy that serves the focus and vocation of the district’s development, integrating the existing and future land use with the future needs of the transportation network.
